Named after an ancient Egyptian city, the spectacular
Luxor Hotel and Casino (Nev.) is a monumental, pyramid
shaped resort located on the south end of Las Vegas'
blazing, neon Strip. This marvelous property is situated
just three miles from McCarran International Airport.
Two 22-story towers, clad in bronze glass, brilliantly reflect
the sun's rays, and a 10-story sphinx is actually three
stories higher than the Egyptian original. The Luxor Hotel and
Casino houses a large atrium, adorned by classic Egyptian
columns, statues and hieroglyphic reliefs. Atop the pyramid, a
powerful light beam is visible 10 miles out in space. Five
acres of sand-hued sundecks, blue-water pools and white-canvas
cabanas offer seclusion in a private section of the hotel's
property. Poolside cabanas can be rented by the day that
include stocked refrigerators, televisions, telephones,
ceiling fans, cushioned lounge chairs and food-and-beverage
service. The Oasis Spa features 12,000 square feet of fitness
equipment, saunas, steam rooms and massage treatments. The
120,000 square-foot casino offers gaming excitement and
showcases diverse entertainment that includes IMAX and
live-show theaters, a high-tech game arcade, King Tut Museum,
Giza Galleria and RA nightclub. "Fantasy" is the
world-renowned dance revue that holds performances six nights
per week. Nine on-site restaurants include Isis and the Sacred
Sea Room and serve dishes that range from continental cuisine
to aged prime beef, and delectable sushi to tantalizing
buffets. Corporate travelers have 20,000 square feet of
flexible meeting space, an extensive business center, catering
services and high speed Internet access.
Among America's largest hotels, the 4,408 guestrooms feature
ambient lighting, custom-made furniture with Egyptian and Art
Deco accents, and subtle color schemes. High-speed Internet
access and multi-line telephones are available in all
guestrooms. The Luxor Hotel and Casino is the epitome of
grandeur in a town famous for extravagance.
